This allows ultimate efficiency measurements from state-of-the-art SiC and GaN based applications to complex multi-motor drivetrain power analysis.
Being the only manufacturer of power analyzers who also designs and produces current sensors, Hioki has the unique advantage that the PW8001 and a wide line of current sensors are optimized for each other. The excessive range of both pull-through and clamp-on current sensors ranging from 20A to 2000A ensures to find the right combination that meets your needs.
Perfect for SiC and GaN applications
Input modules of the PW8001 can be combined flexibly depending on the application. Combined with the U7005 high accuracy input module, the PW8001 becomes the ultimate development tool for SiC and GaN based power applications such as DC/DC converters or inverter drives. The increasing use of SiC and GaN semiconductors in these kinds of applications demand accurate power measurement at switching frequencies of 50 kHz or even higher and the high precision input module has a sampling rate of 15MS/s in combination with 18-bit A/D conversion and offers power accuracy of 0.05% for DC, 0.03% at 50/60 Hz and 0.2% at 50 kHz.
1500 V DC CAT II voltage inputs
Combined with the input module U7001, the PW8001 is ready to analyze applications with high a DC voltage up to 1500 V. With up to eight modular power channels, it is the only bench power analyzer on the market with 1500 V DC CAT II rated inputs, fulfilling the requirements of today’s PV applications, for instance for the development or end of line testing of Solar Power Conditioners.
4-motor drive system analysis
The optional 4 motor analysis function further allows you to simultaneously analyse the performance of 4-motor drive systems used for drones, performance EVs with in-wheel motors, redundant drive systems in aviation or industrial robots.
Automatic Phase Shift Correction
Another feature unique to the PW8001 resulting from the fact that both power analyzer and current sensors are designed by Hioki, is the Automatic Phase Shift Correction function (APSC). This function ensures unmatched performance for example when evaluating the loss of high frequency reactors and transformers. Automatic information transfer from sensor to power analyzer also ensures quick and error-free pairing with the PW8001.
